Job Description

The Learning Strategy & Development Specialist supports the global talent management strategy and executes at the regional level. The individual creates and delivers effective learning solutions for targeted audiences within or across functional areas in additional to managing strategic talent solutions such as succession planning, high potential management, leadership development activities, and more.

Duties and Responsibilities

This role collaborates closely with subject matter experts and other learning specialists to develop and deliver learning strategies, tools, and materials that support enhanced job performance and increased productivity in alignment with the Axalta Strategic Imperatives.

  • Support and execute the Global Talent Management strategy including succession planning, development mechanisms, and learning for the Americas region.
  • Drive a focus on career development within the region. Leverage career development tools and resources to assist managers with career development conversations.
  • Embed a coaching mindset within the workforce.
  • Facilitate key employee life cycle talent programming for the region including leadership development programs for new leaders, emerging leaders, and executive leaders.
  • Strategize, develop, and execute communication for key programs and processes across the region at all levels. Develop robust communication plans to accompany key talent management milestones.
  • Devise and propose effective learning strategies and solutions that include classroom and virtual instructor-led training, eLearning, micro-learning, and blended learning.
  • In coordination with the client, define learning objectives and create content outlines, curriculum. plans, and other design documents to guide the development of learning content and evaluations.
  • Follow Axalta design and branding guidelines to create engaging, high-quality learning materials and compelling learning content that enhance the retention of learning.
  • Design, develop, and customize learning content; repurpose existing content into new learning solutions.
  • Design and develop learning activities, knowledge checks, and pre/post assessments that enhance the learning process.
  • Knowledge with authoring tools to create eLearning courses, micro-learning modules, simulations, video, audio, and high-impact instructional graphics.
  • Prepare and facilitate virtual and classroom sessions as needed.
  • Stay abreast of new trends and tools in learning and development.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Ability to estimate time necessary to develop and deliver learning solutions.
  • Manage multiple small- to medium scale projects simultaneously.
  • Partner with external vendors as needed.
  • Achieve project milestones/end results.
  • Logically organize information.
  • Monitor and communicate status of work in progress; alert stakeholders to potential risks and conflicts.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in learning & development, which includes experience designing and delivering high impact learning solutions.
  • Experience working with clients and vendors.
  • Creative thinking with ability to translate abstract ideas into tactical concepts and effectively implement them.
  • Experience in training facilitation.
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of the Learning and Development trends and innovations, the market of training vendors and solutions with experience implementing those solutions.
