Job Description

The role of the Human Resources Intern will be to provide HR support to all departments within the Minneapolis, MN BAE Systems facility. The intern will report to the HR Manager and will work directly with all employees and leaders from departments across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position will assist with recruiting, onboarding, new hire orientation, summer internship program and employee engagement events.
  • Will support with Employee Relations issues including employee investigations.
  • Will gain exposure in developing reports and data pulls from HRIS system.
  • The qualified Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience working side-by-side with an HR team across four sites on all HR processes.


  • The successful summer intern candidate must be enrolled in and actively pursuing completion of a 4-yr degree.
  • In addition, candidates should have the ability to perform entry-level human resources functions. Strong communication skills and basic problem solving acuity and basic experience with Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications include:

  • Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work independently.
  • Solid computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, to include the ability to prepare professional business letters and memorandums.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work efficiently under deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • The selected candidate must have completed at least 65 credit hours of related course work with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Other desirable qualities: sound professional judgment, business acumen, attention to detail, ability to plan and organize.
