Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for strategic and administrative leadership of Human Resources functions including employee relations, labor relations, benefits, compensation, records, and employee recognition, as well as Education and Employee Health and Safety departments. Works with staff of these departments to help develop and achieve goals and objectives, which are compatible with those of the organization and the community.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required, Master’s degree preferred or equivalent job-related experience in the field.
  • Five (5) recent years in Human Resources leadership experience is required, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in the development and administration of complex compensation, benefits, and worker-related programs and policies ensuring compliance to related regulations.
  • Expertise and knowledge in working within a union environment.
  • SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP, PHR/SPHR certification(s) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
