Duties and Responsibilities

The Training Manager is a key player in the onboarding and training of all colleagues within the hotel, and is a partner between Human Resources and the hotel operation. This person conducts all training for new hires and managers as needed by the hotel, and oversees for the core responsibilities as follow:

  • Coordination and execution of internal training, including but not limited to Orientation, compliance, and soft skills training.
  • Oversight of the departmental trainer program, assistance developing training plans, selection of hotel department trainers, providing development training and tips to designated trainers through one on ones and monthly meetings, completing check in on trainers and new colleagues, and tracking new hire progress
  • Oversight of the onboarding process to include a 2-4 day hotel emersion teaching new hires about the property, our purpose and culture, service recovery and hospitality, and work etiquette
  • Conducting 45 day and continued check in conversations with colleague to assist in their growth and development.
  • Reviewing guest comments to identify areas of training opportunity
  • Completing department observations to ensure execution of standards.
  • Updating and maintain classroom materials
  • Additional projects related to the position and department.


  • Proven Human Resources/training and/or hotel management experience, both are preferred
  • 4 year college degree from an accredited university
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
  • Energetic, passionate, self-motivated and a strong team player.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills required.
  • Displays high initiative and requires minimal supervision and direction.
  • Up to date with training/hospitality trends and best practices
  • Guest oriented and service mind
