Amazon’s Global Workforce Strategy and Innovation team are seeking a motivated self-starter that can work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment to join our team of On-Road Delivery leaders, managing driver labor hiring for our Last-Mile Delivery network.

A newly formed team within Global Workforce Staffing, AGWS is pioneering solutions to our toughest workforce challenges across the globe building innovative labor models and infrastructure that improve Amazon’s employment value proposition and scale over time.

The Senior Team Lead will contribute to and execute against a driver acquisition strategy across their region and partner with the business to balance labor supply and demand.

Duties and Responsibilities

This role has the accountability of managing the candidate pipeline from the point of application to starting on Day 1, building effective candidate attraction strategies, and is the single point of contact for driver labor in the region. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, can see around corners, be an effective and motivating leader, and demonstrate a passion for process improvement. This role is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role.

The person will be responsible for managing multiple delivery stations, likely across multi-states.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and manages regional delivery metrics and forecasting
  • Dives deep into the details and audits frequently
  • Identifies risks and weighs options for mitigating before acting
  • Uses independent judgment to identify when to simplify vs when to innovate
  • Starts with the customer and works backward
  • Plans all phases of successful operation for hiring and onboarding drivers in the region
  • Builds scalable variable resource models that are able to flex with business demand
  • Partners with operations and finance regional leaders to align labor strategy, plans and mitigate risk due to labor fulfillment

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Identifies process and system improvement opportunities by monitoring existing metrics, analyzing data and partnering with internal teams
  • Develops process improvements to positively impact results in areas such as candidate throughput and driver quality
  • Collaborates with regional On-Road Team leads to build a deep knowledge of the driver labor space

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in program management, supply chain management, or business analytics
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple sites, projects and/or relationships
  • Travel up to 75% required
  • Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic/Working knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques
  • Strong commitment to exceptional candidate experience, and a high level of dedication, enthusiasm, motivation, and persuasive ability in a team and cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills, attention to details, proactive self-starter
  • Experience using and communicating performance metrics
  • Experience analyzing data using various tools for forecasting and optimization
  • Experience communicating and influencing across job levels and multiple stakeholders
  • Cross-functional project management experience
  • Ability to push back, foresee potential issues, and advocate for relentless improvement
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity easily, solve for both service level problems and the challenges of minute-to-minute change will be necessary
  • Ability to make independent, sound decisions
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing process defect data and the development of corresponding countermeasures
  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking key performance metrics including return on investment
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
