Job Description

The VP of Human Resources will oversee all HR and People Operations strategy, providing counsel to the executive leadership team as well as driving organizational development, talent management, talent acquisition, and total rewards. The HR executive will be a collaborative thought leader that is comfortable making strategic decisions that blend the mission of the organization with the needs and interests of their employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership Advisor:

  • Leadership. Supports executive management by providing advice, counsel, and ongoing guidance. Manage reporting, HR analytics, and budgetary requirements for all HR Operations.
  • Strategy. Work with Executive Team to define and evaluate HR strategies, and execute and monitor HR initiatives.
  • Corporate Communications. Align with leadership and give guidance when needed on communications and employer branding.

Culture:

  • Culture Advocate. Work closely with the Executive Leadership, across all lines of business, to foster a culture that promotes company values and maintains the highest standards of professionalism. Develop a set of best practices to socialize the culture (both internally and externally).
  • Morale Events. Drive the ideation and planning of morale building events, programs, and community outreach taking into consideration the interests of the employees and budgetary guidelines.

Total Rewards:

  • Compensation. Maintain a competitive compensation program, periodically conducting program review to ensure that compensation plans are competitive, fair and align with company strategy.
  • Benefits. Oversee all company-sponsored benefit plans, including health and welfare, leave administration, retirement, deferred compensation, long-term incentive and other perquisites.
  • Best Practice. Evaluate benefit programs annually with the goal of maintaining a competitive, yet cost-effective benefits program while reflecting the culture of the organization. Works with external broker to review annual benefits renewal.

Recruiting and Employer Branding:

  • Recruiting. Develop recruitment strategy to support a pipeline of qualified candidates for all positions across the organization.
  • Hiring Strategy and Compensation. Oversee the negotiation process for new hires and internal promotions. Drives compensation strategy to attract and retain talent.
  • External Communications. Manage employer branding. Initiate strategies for leveraging the company website, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and other resources to promote career opportunities.

Talent Development:

  • Employee Engagement. Develop and maintain a relationship with employees through personal interaction and engagement surveys with the goal of anticipating needs and proactively offering solutions.
  • Employee Development. Work with managers and employees to identify key development needs. Initiate training programs and professional development opportunities to address those needs.
  • Leadership Development. Assess needs of organization and develop programs that support desired leadership skills internally or externally.
  • Performance Management and Employee Relations. Ability to coach and mentor using positive reinforcement; providing clear feedback and follow through to reinforce changes in performance. Counsel managers and employees.
  • Performance Review. Lead the annual strategic performance review process partnering with the leadership team to evaluate results, identify emerging talent, and address organizational development needs.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Human Resources leader with 10-15 years of experience, both strategic and HR operations
  • Subject matter expert with a track record of identifying and implementing effective solutions, consistent with the company’s vision and values
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in building relationships with leadership teams and department leads
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and previous exposure to high-growth enterprises is a plus
  • Strong philosophy on compensation, benefits, and incentives
  • Command of HR regulations, laws, and compliance requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree and HR Certifications strongly preferred
